ZIPZ

Fashioning
an unfashionable
brand.

ZIPZ looked like some kind of mash up between Pac Sun and Sketchers with a silly feature that no one was asking for, zip on shells. But that's nothing insightful thinking and a brand platform can’t fix using the power of curiosity to drive interest where none should be. This was my first time working with Christopher Penman, a writer that broke most writer stereotypes. He brought a sense of enlightened fashion in words most would struggle to find for a transforming zipper shoe. Inspired by classic movements like Wabi-Sabi and California modernism we created a brand language that was rooted in a crusade for fashion experimentation.

Manifesto

Divining purpose
through a manifesto.

It all started with a manifesto that reflected the target consumer. A rally cry to spontaneous experiences and the belief you have the right to change your mind on a whim. An acceptance of being in the moment and abandoning perfection while finding the beauty in the unique. This is ZIPZ.

Style is an idea. A relentless expression. It empowers you to explore, find, and redefine yourself with every look you try on and take off. Style experiments and evolves.

To not evolve is easy. You sit and wait. You double-tap photos. You become a push notification.

But people who change lace up, break off, and stand out. Change moves west. Change gets noticed. Change knows style doesn’t fail, it experiments.

We are your instrument of experimentation. We stand for using fashion as a language to whisper and roar. We are classic, street, and chic. We are whatever we want to be. We are Zipz.
